Investment - Overview
In June 2011, Google and Citi invested in the second phase of the AWEC, being developed by Terra-Gen, allowing the AWEC to be the nation's first gigawatt-scale wind energy center, having more than 1020 MW online by the end of 2011. This investment nearly doubled the capacity of the largest currently operating U.S. wind energy installation. Citi and Google each invested $102 million in the AWEC.
